Tap water - Chlorinated

Installation in a house with questionable and/or chlorinated tapwater. Entire house treatment includes a carbon filter and a Sensiblue.

1

Drinking water plant delivers chlorinated water to your home.

2

Carbon filtration - reduces chemicals (Chlorine / PFAS / PFOA) and organics.

3

Sensiblue installation for whole house water treatment to keep water safe.

4

Warm tap water heater, can save up to 50% on energy if heating device is set at 45°C instead of 60°C.

5

Every tap has safe water to drink (potable) without chlorine taste.

6

Toilet flushing and shower steam creates water vapour with risk for Legionella. Sensiblue prevents this.

7

Washing machine - biofilm buildup creates black mould and bad odors. Sensiblue prevents biofilm growth and keeps your laundry fresh.

8

Garden hoses are a source of legionella due to idle water and heating up in the sun. Sensiblue removes the biofilm.

Why

Drinking water treatment plants disinfect water with chlorine (up to 5 mg/L) to ensure it reaches your home safely. While this protects against harmful bacteria, it can leave an unpleasant chlorine taste.

A carbon filter removes chlorine and improves taste, while also filtering out other contaminants such as PFAS/PFOA and organic compounds. However, once the chlorine is removed, the water is no longer protected against bacterial growth.

To guarantee both great taste and safety, Sensiblue adds an ulta-low dose of chlorine (0.2–0.4 mg/L). This level is undetectable by taste, keeps your water hygienic, and protects your plumbing by preventing biofilm buildup.

Benefits

Safe drinking water at all times

Enjoy peace of mind knowing your water is hygienically protected and safe to drink.

Less maintenance, fewer filters

No need for multiple carbon filters — saving you time, effort, and replacement costs.

No bottled water needed

Reduce plastic waste while saving money, time, and storage space.

What to Install

Install a carbon filter to reduce organic compounds, PFAS, chlorine, and other chemical contaminants — while preserving essential minerals.

Install the Sensiblue S4 either at the Point of Entry (PoE) or Point of Use (PoU) after the carbon filter to ensure safe, hygienic water throughout your system.

Tap water - Not Chlorinated

Installation in a house with safe tapwater without chlorine, Sensiblue used for legionella & biofilm prevention.

1

Drinking water plant delivers non-chlorinated water to your home.

2

Optional Carbon filtration - reduces chemicals (Chlorine / PFAS / PFOA) and organics.

3

Sensiblue installation for warm tap water, garden and laundry.

4

Warm tap water heater, can save up to 50% on energy if heating device is set at 45°C instead of 60°C.

5

Every tap has safe water to drink (potable) without chlorine taste.

6

Shower steam creates water vapour with risk for Legionella. Sensiblue prevents this while keeping heating device at 45°C. No "hot-water run" needed.

7

Washing machine - biofilm buildup creates black mould and bad odors. Sensiblue prevents biofilm growth and keeps your laundry fresh.

8

Garden hoses are a source of legionella due to idle water and heating up in the sun. Sensiblue removes the biofilm.

Why

In countries where drinking water is treated by water utilities, infrastructure is well maintained, and water temperatures remain below 20°C, tap water is generally safe to drink when it reaches your home. However, if the temperature in cold-water pipes rises above 20°C, or if water remains stagnant for several days, biofilm can start to form inside the plumbing. Biofilm creates an ideal environment for the growth of bacteria and viruses. Without residual disinfectant in the water, this biofilm cannot be removed, creating a potential health risk. Chlorine is the only proven method for removing biofilm inside water systems.

For warm tap water systems, safety is usually ensured by heating over 60°C to prevent microbiological growth. This process consumes significant energy, increasing both costs and CO₂ emissions.
Sensiblue eliminates the need for thermal disinfection, allowing water heating systems to operate at lower temperatures (typically 38°C instead of 60°C+). Ultra-low chlorine dosing (0.2–0.4 mg/L) ensures hygienic safety and prevents biofilm formation. This concentration is tasteless while delivering significant energy savings and cost reduction.

Benefits

Safe drinking water at all times

Enjoy peace of mind knowing your water is hygienically protected and safe to drink.

Energy-efficient and sustainable

No need to heat water above the actual use temperature (e.g. 38°C for showers), saving a significant amount of energy and reducing CO₂ emissions.

Biofilm-free plumbing

Prevents biofilm formation inside your pipes, keeping your entire system clean and safe.

No boiling required

Enjoy safe water straight from the tap — no need to boil before use.

What to Install

Sensiblue at the Point of Entry (PoE) for whole-house treatment, or directly in front of your heating device.

Optional: A carbon filter to reduce organic compounds, PFAS, chlorine, and other chemical contaminants — while preserving essential minerals.
